Exercises you can do in swimming pool

Can you make exercise a fun habit? If you want exercise to be fun then I suggest that you go exercise in the swimming pool. The swimming pool is there (all clean and decontaminated using swimming pool chemicals). What are you waiting for? Go change into your swimming trunks or bathing suit. In case you don’t have a swimming pool in your backyard, check out your local listing for public swimming pools or recreation areas.

A number of individuals are not even aware that swimming engages more than one set of muscles in your body that makes it another form of exercise routine. The good news here is that it is a ‘low-impact’ kind of exercise that makes it ideal for those beginning to try their hand at exercising. People who suffered an injury and even elderly people who requires exercise but cannot do so under normal circumstances are actually advised to try swimming pool therapy. Swimming pool chemicals have no unwanted effects on the people who opt to exercise in the pool. Before getting into a pool, be sure that the pool has been correctly treated and decontaminated with the correct swimming pool chemicals.

 

Strong swimmers usually begin their swim with a couple of gentle laps in the pool to warm up their muscles. After a few minutes have passed, you can then start picking up the pace so that the muscles in your body will be tapped to work harder. If you start to feel exhausted then it means that you are doing everything right.

Not a strong swimmer? You can do other exercise routines instead.

  1. Fast walking for 10 to 15 minutes at the shallow part of the pool is one routine you can have a go at.
  2. Do some stationary swimming at the deeper portion of the pool for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Water treading for 10-20 minutes at a fast speed. If you cannot tread water, another option is to grab onto the ledge with one of your hands, position your body sideways and start kicking as if you were riding on a bike.
  4. While standing firmly on the pool floor, preferably where the pool water reaches your chest area, twist your upper body side to side for a minimum of 8 turns.

Don’t forget a few important things. Swimming pool exercises are really fun just remember that you do need to do both warm-up and cooling-down stages of exercise. You are not obliged to exercise every day, in fact, I strongly recommend you one or two days rest, prior to taking office again.
