Spent your whole life struggling with weight loss? Spent years going from quick weight loss plan to quick weight loss plan? You are just like me, then. I’ve tried all of the plans out there. Whether it was the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, or any other “easy” diet plan, I’ve done all the research. I know something about the topic. I’ve lost weight only to regain it so many times I’ve lost count. The experts would call this a weight problem.
I also love food and hate having to starve myself when I see a picture of myself during the holidays and rush to start another new fast weight loss plan. It’s enough to say that I have quite a bit of skin in the “easy” diet plan game that’s been sweeping the nation for the past decade.
In searching for the right diet plan for me it was frustrating to encounter hype on top of more hype. Outrageous claims with crazy before and after photos from the testimonials served to turn me off from plans rather than draw me to them. Let’s be real! When it took me 45 days to lose 10 pounds I knew there wasn’t much stock to be put into their “30 pounds in 30 days” claims. The most common problem I encountered with the many products and plans attempted is that, while they do indeed work, they are not geared for a long period of usage. The plan that was right for me would help me lose weight and keep it off for the long term. It would also let me eat the kinds of food I enjoy in the quantity that would keep me filled and not craving midnight snacks!
We’ve all seen the plethora of diet programs, websites, and DVDs that all claim to have the best solution. The thing I learned from my exploration is that a diet alone will not help you. A diet is something you can put away when you don’t want it, then come back to. True weight management comes from a lifestyle change. Because, when you think about it, anything that you do short-term to lose weight will reverse itself and revert back to its old ways once you stop dieting.
Instead of simple dieting, I’ve decided to follow and advocate programs that promote a healthy lifestyle.
