Learning to sing can be difficult, and you need to be ready for some of the things that could happen. You are going to catch that cold or sore throat and you have to know how to deal with it. Follow this advice to take care of that sore throat when the time comes.
Try to avoid nasal sprays
There are nasal sprays that contain certain elements that can actually become addictive and cause more problems. You may find that you need to use these sprays, but try to refrain from it as much as possible.
Drinking water with medication helps.
Many OTC meds can cause you to dry out pretty badly. If you are ready for this and make sure to hydrate yourself, you won’t have a big problem.
Use Nasal Saline Spray
Your body will try to expel germs through a runny nose, and that’s a great reason to keep nasal saline spray on hand. If you use the spray when you are sick, be careful to keep the lid on it. Place the nozzle close enough to your nose to get in a good squirt but not so close that the cold germs from your nose get on the nozzle.
A Humidifier will help greatly
The winter heater may dry out your home, so keep the humidifier running, especially at night. You should rinse it out every day however, or it will grow mold. It is possible for there to be too much moisture in your home, so make sure you turn it off if you see this happening.
Mucus Thinning
You need to thin out your mucus if you find that you have a postnasal drip. To dry out your mucus, you should seek saline, or other medications from your doctor.
Throat lozenges without sugar are better for your vocal health
Throat lozenges will help to reduce the coughing. Most lozenges are just candy. You may find that it drops, no sugar to prevent this film from a sugar attached to the teeth and having a big party at the expense of your dental work. Lozenges with menthol easily dries the throat to do everything to avoid them.
